Workbook handling, in plain English.

Spreadsheet Checkup is designed to analyze a file for one request, return the findings, and move on.

Uploaded workbooks

Uploaded workbooks are read only to perform the requested analysis. The application does not provide workbook storage, accounts, or uploaded-file history, and the application code does not intentionally save workbook contents after the request is processed.

Macros and external links

Macro-enabled .xlsm workbooks can be inspected, but VBA macros are not executed. External workbook links are inventoried as review signals; the analyzer does not follow those links to fetch outside files.

Analysis results

Analysis result responses are sent with no-store cache instructions. JSON and CSV report downloads are generated in your browser from the findings already displayed on the page.

Website analytics

Spreadsheet Checkup uses Google Analytics only after you choose to allow analytics. Analytics is limited to the public home, checks, and privacy pages; it is not loaded on workbook report pages or the demo report. Basic visit and interaction information such as page views, device/browser details, and traffic source may be sent to Google. Workbook contents and filenames are not sent to Google Analytics.

Your analytics choice is stored in your browser so the site can remember it. Advertising storage, Google signals, and ad-personalization signals are disabled in this analytics setup.

What the checker does not promise

Automated spreadsheet review has limits. A finding can be intentional, and a workbook can contain business-logic mistakes that structural analysis cannot infer. The checker does not certify accounting accuracy, regulatory compliance, security, or fitness for a particular decision.

Your responsibility

Only upload workbooks you are authorized to analyze. If a workbook contains highly sensitive information, consider whether any web-based processing tool is appropriate for that file.
